KTDA Power Company Ltd (KTPC), on behalf of its three Regional Power Companies (RPCs) in the Aberdare Region of Kenya (Gura, Metumi and Chania), has set up three small hydroelectric power plants (SHPs) which supply electricity to the tea factory companies in the area. The power generated from these hydro projects is used in the tea processing factories and the surplus is fed to the national grid through Power Purchase Agreement. Currently, the power projects currently supply electricity to 10 tea factories within the region using captive grid network. However, it has been proposed to extend the existing network of 33 kV & 11 kV transmission lines to supply electricity to six more tea factories in Aberdare Region in order to enhance captive consumption.
KTDA Power Company invites Technical Proposals from eligible experienced EPC contractors with requisite capacity and Reputable manufacturers / suppliers of equipment and materials, from whom the EPC contractors of the Proposed Aberdare Captive-grid Project will source approved materials.
Interested eligible firms may obtain detailed Request for Proposals documents from the Procurement office located on first floor KTDA Farmers Building Moi Avenue, Nairobi during working hours upon payment of the above mentioned registration fee. Completed tender documents should be deposited in the Tender Box at the reception on Ground floor, KTDA Farmers Building, Moi Avenue Nairobi, so as to be received not later than 09.30 AM on 30th November, 2021. Tenders will be opened on the same day.
KPTC is not obliged to accept any tender and its decision on the tendering process shall be final.
Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification from the tendering process.
