REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED MOMUL TEA FACTORY (KIPTERE SITE) IN KERICHO COUNTY

KENYA TEA DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (MS) LIMITED TENDER MARCH 2022 

KTDA Management Services Limited, on behalf ‘ of Momul Tea Factory Company Ltd seeks to pre­qualify contractors for construction of the proposed Kiptere Tea Factory in Kericho County.

Eligibility

Eligible contractors, who must be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) are hereby invited to submit their EOls to the address stated below for consideration for pre-qualification and subsequent invitation to tender. Contractors shall submit only one original document for prequalification in any of the categories.

Applicants MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) under the following categories:-

1. Building and Civil Works – NCA 3 or higher
2. Structural Steelworks – NCA 4 or higher
3. Electrical Installation Works – NCA 5 or higher and EPRA Class B or higher
4. Mechanical (Plumbing, Drainage & Firefighting) Works – NCA 5 or higher

The following mandatory documents must accompany the EOI;

1. a)Copy of Company Profile (company history, contacts and services)
2. b)Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation
3. c)Certified copy of Company CR12
4. d)Certified copy of NCA Registration Certificate
5. e)Certified copy of ERC Registration Certificate – for Electrical Installation Works category Only
6. f)Certified copy of the current Business Permit from the Relevant Authority
7. g)Certified copy of PIN certificate
8. h)Certified copy of KRA TAX compliance certificate

Technical Evaluation Parameters

1. a)List and evidence of works of similar nature, complexity and/or magnitude executed within the last five years including names of the clients and or consultants for the projects.
2. b)Qualification and experience of key personnel, including directors
3. c)Major items of construction equipment owned or leased – proof required
4. d)Financial capacity documents – audited financial statements for the last three years – 6 months’ company bank statements
5. e)Authority to seek references from company bankers.

Selection Process

On the basis of information obtained from eligible contractors, KTDA will prepare a shortlist of prequalified contractors who will subsequently be invited to tender for the project. Enquiries on the EOI may be emailed to: procurement@ktdateas.com

Application Deadline

Expressions of Interest should be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly marked “KTDA/027/2022 – Expression of Interest for Construction of Proposed Kiptere Tea Factory” and addressed to:-

The EOI documents should be deposited in the tender box at the reception on ground floor, KTDA Farmers Building, Moi Avenue, Nairobi to be received not later than 12^th April 2022 at 9.30 am.

The opening of EOI documents shall be virtual through a video link. Bidders will be provided with the log-in credentials before the tender opening upon email request.

Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification from the tendering process.
