The Kenya Water Institute has received financing from the African Development Bank
hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Improving Public Health and
Enhancing Technical Skills of Youth in Kenya through Sanitation Technology Transfer and
intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract1 for
Construction of Green Toilet System(GTS), Treatment Facility in Tharaka Nithi
and Kajiado County, and Workshop in Chiakariga in Tharaka Nithi County
(3LOTS)
For this contract, Kenya Water Institute shall process the payments using the Direct
Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines
and procedures for Investment Project Financing.
The Kenya Water Institute now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the
Construction of Green Toilet System(GTS), Treatment Facility in Tharaka Nithi
and Kajiado County, and Workshop in Chiakariga in Tharaka Nithi County
(3LOTS)
Bidding will be conducted through Open Competitive Bidding OCB procedures as
specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework2

1. , and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
2. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from The Director,
Kenya water Institute, and inspect the bidding document during office hours
0900 to 1700hours at the address given below.
3. The bidding document in English may be downloaded from Kenya Water institute
(KEWI) website for free. The document will be sent by postal airmail for overseas
delivery and surface mail or courier for local delivery or in person.
4. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12:05 pm East Africa
time on 16TH JUNE,2022. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will
be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’
designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address
below;

contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.”
5. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid security of Ksh. 440,000.00 (four hundred
and forty thousand Kenyan shilling) unconditional bank guarantee.
