REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES- FIRMS SELECTION)

ASSIGNMENT TITLE: CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND WORK SUPER-VISION FOR MURANG’A COUNTY COMMUNITY WATER SUPPLY AUGMENTATION PROJECT

NCB: AWWDA/GoK/ ACWSP /CS-14/2020

  1. Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) has received funding from the Government of Kenya towards the cost of implementation of Cross County water projects.
  2. AWWDA intends to use part of the funds for services to undertake Design Review and Work Supervision for Murang’a County Community Water Supply Augmentation Project works. This project involves
  3.             Construction of 6.5m high intake at South Mathioya river (Tuthu intake)
  4.             Construction of 1m High Gatuthu Intake,

iii.            Relocation works for Kimakia Intake

  1.             Construction of 250 m3, 100m3, 2 No. 150m3 and 5 No. 50m3 Storage Tanks within Murang’a County
  2.             Laying of 195km of water transmission and distribution pipelines with diameters ranging OD32-OD200mm within Murang’a County.
  3.             Drilling and Equipping of Boreholes

 

  1. The consultant will undertake among others the following activities:
  2.             Carry out design review of the Murang’a County Community Water Supply Augmentation Project.
  3.             Supervise and Coordinate Construction of Works

 

The consultancy services will be carried out over a period of 18 Months.

 

  1. Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites eligible engineering consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. The shortlisting criteria for the consultants are:
  2. Experience in similar assignments involving designs and work supervision of water works development;
  3. Experience in similar conditions; and,
  4. Availability of appropriate skills amongst key staff including qualified professional engineers, surveyors, environmentalists and sociologists

 

  1. Interested Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 0800 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour (1300 to 1400Hrs) and public holidays.
  2. Expressions of interest must be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person, or by mail, or by e-mail) by 11th March 2020 at 12:00 Noon East African Time clearly marked “Expression of Interest for Consultancy Services for the: Design Review and Work Supervision for Murang’a County Community Water Supply Augmentation Project. Contract No. AWWDA/ GoK/ ACWSP /CS-14/2020.”
