INVITATION FOR TENDERS (IFT) 

CONSTRUCTION OF BARAKA – CHAKA WATER EXTENSION PROJECT, NYERI COUNTY 

TENDER NO: TWWDA/T/025/2022-2023 
1. Tana Water Works Development Agency has funds for use during the financial
year(s) 2022/23. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used
to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Construction of Baraka –
Chaka Water Extension Project, Nyeri County.
2. TWWDA, the Procuring Entity now invites sealed Tenders from eligible
contractors registered with NCA 4 and above and Ministry of Water, Irrigation
and Sanitation Class “C” for carrying out construction works of Baraka –
Chaka Water Extension Project, Nyeri County.
3. Tendering will be conducted through the Open tender procedures specified in
the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015 and is open to all
Tenderers as defined in the Regulations. Any prequalified firm/s in this category
of works/service/s is also encouraged to tender for the works whereof their bids
shall be accorded appropriate exceptions in accordance with the procurement
laws.
4. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the
Tendering Documents at the offices of the Tana Water Works Development
Agency, Maji House, along Baden Powell Road, P.O. Box 1292-10100, Nyeri
from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. from Mondays to Thursdays and from 8:00 am to
4:00 pm on Fridays except on public holidays or from the website
www.tanawwda.go.ke. at their convenience.
5. A complete set of Tender Document(s) can be obtained for free on the IFMIS
Tender Portal http.//supplier.treasury.go.ke and on Tana Water Works
Development Agency website www.tanawwda.go.ke. or from TWWDA’s
Procurement Office during normal working hours upon payment of nonrefundable fee of Kshs1,000 cash or Bankers Cheque
6. Two (2) hard copies (one original and one copy) tender documents must be
submitted enclosed in plain sealed envelope marked with the tender name and
tender reference number, addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Tana
Water Works Development Agency P.O. Box 1292 – 00100 Nyeri, Maji
House, Baden Powel Road and deposited in the tender Box at Tana Water
Works Development Agency at the reception, so as to be received on or before
Wednesday, 08th February 2023 at 10.00am and opened there after at
TWWDA Board Room in the presence of the Bidders or their representatives
who choose to attend.
7. Late or incomplete Tenders shall not be accepted.
