CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DEVELOPING KENYA GREEN MANUFACTURING POLICY AND KENYA GREEN MANUFACTURING STRATEGY

Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ] GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise owned by the German Federal Government. GIZ supports the Government of Germany in achieving its development-policy objectives for sustainable development and has its operations spread worldwide. In Kenya, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development [BMZ].

One area of intervention for the Kenya-German Development Cooperation is to support sustainable growth of MSMEs. A project implemented in line with this is the GIZ Programme for Promotion of Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship which aims at increasing job-creating potential of formal and informal young enterprises. The programme is implemented in partnership with State Department of Industry.

The Programme seeks to support State Department of Industry to develop Kenya Green Manufacturing Policy and Kenya Green Manufacturing strategy for the long-term implementation of green manufacturing in Kenya. In this regard, GIZ seeks the services of a consultant who will support State Department of Industry in development of a strategy and policy for implementation of green manufacturing.

The consultant is supposed to conduct situation analysis of greening of manufacturing in Kenya, carry out capacity building for selected technical experts at the State Department of Industry and guide the experts to develop Kenya Green Manufacturing Policy and Kenya Green Manufacturing Strategy.
