BUDGET TIPS/SUGGESTIONS TO THE CABINET SECRETARY, NATIONAL TREASURY AND ECONOMIC PLANNING FOR
CONSIDERATION WHILE PREPARING THE FY 2023/24 BUDGET STATEMENT
The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, CBS is
expected to deliver the Budget Statement for the FY 2023/24 to Parliament on 8th June, 2023. While
finalizing the Statement, the Cabinet Secretary would appreciate contributions and ideas on economic
policy and tax measures from Kenyans for the FY 2023/24 Budget. Your proposals should be centered on
the following broad areas:
i. Measures to accelerate economic recovery and enhance economic resilience;
ii. Ways to bring down the cost of living, eradicate hunger, create jobs, expand the tax base, improve
foreign exchange balance and inclusive growth;
iii. Suggestions on how to strengthen implementation of Government priority programmes under the
Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) geared towards economic turnaround and
inclusive growth;
iv. Specific ways to accelerate recovery and growth of the private sector and MSMEs;
v. Tips on how to foster a secure and conducive business environment to promote investment
growth, businesses recovery and jobs creation;
vi. How to integrate the youth and women into accelerating sustainable economic recovery;
vii. Ways to enhance revenue mobilization and prudently manage public resources; and
viii. Any other Budget tips or suggestions.
In this respect, please share specific or general tips for the FY 2023/24 Budget Statement to the email
budgetstatement@treasury.go.ke with a copy to budgetstatement@gmail.com.

for consideration.
