CONSULTANCY ON ENHANCING HR SERVICES; EMPLOYABILITY AND LABOUR MATCHING IN THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR LABOUR MARKET IN WESTERN KENYA
The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ] GmbH implements the initiative Agri-Jobs 4 Youth commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development [BMZ]. The initiative’s objective is to increase qualification, income and employment opportunities in the agri-food sector in Western Kenya with a special focus on youth and women.
Despite the disparities of the job market demand and supply like in other sectors, lack of knowledge on the availability of internships and job opportunities in the agri-food sector continues to be a major obstacle for job-seeking youth to access employment opportunities. Additionally, jobs often advertised are neither entry-level nor internship opportunities, excluding fresh graduates and youth with negligible experience in benefiting from available employment choices. Agri-Jobs 4 Youth’s effort to promote rural youth employment in Western Kenya through the integrated approach to employment promotions includes making opportunities visible for job seekers and highlighting available talent for employers.
Consultancy firms or HR companies interested to support this component should have a team with academic backgrounds in adult learning, private sector support, HR, and professional experience in Capacity and Business Development, Career Development and Campaigning. Prior experience in Development Cooperation will be an asset.
Interested Consultancy firms or HR companies must provide verifiable proof of qualifications and experience in similar/ related services as well as provide work samples. The tenderer is also requested to provide a summary assessment of the team proposed and must specify the positions, tasks and qualifications of each expert. More details are provided in the Terms of Reference [ToR].
