Murang’a County Government introduced minimum guarantee return for the dairy sector in March 2023.19,000 farmers are currently benefiting from this scheme and milk production has almost doubled in the county and more have been attracted into the sector. Milk from Murang’a small scale farmers now fetch some of the highest prices per litre in the country. The county now wants to expand the Programme and include farmers and milk aggregators that were left out.
Interested milk entities who meet the criteria set by Agricultural Subsidy Guidelines and Regulation set by Murang’a County Assembly should express interest on or before 22nd August 2023.

ELIGIBILITY:
Must be a dairy farmer within Murang’a County.
Must be producing unadulterated, quality and marketable milk.
Must be an active member of a registered dairy cooperative or aggregator.
Must be willing to disclose enterprise production information to help in planning the county government subsidies programme.
