Background
The United Nations World Food Programme [WFP] is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Each year, WFP assists over 160 million people in over 120 countries.
The WFP Regional Bureau, Nairobi seeks to purchase Lipid Based Nutritional Supplement (LNS] / Ready to Use Supplementary Food [RUSF] from manufacturers for Eastern Africa region.
Prospective suppliers must be registered with the relevant authorities in their domicile countries and have legal authorization to provide this commodity in the country where the food is needed. WFP invites eligible suppliers to express their interest.
Product details:
Lipid Based Nutritional Supplement [LNS] / Ready to Use Supplementary Food [RUSF] is a fortified lipid- based paste/spread that is stabilized and individually packaged in robust sachets that are packed in sturdy cartons. Target groups are children 6 months and older.
It is prepared from peanut paste, Chickpeas and soybeans, Maize flour, Soy protein products, Oil and oil used to produce shortening, Sugar, Milk powder, Whey powder, Whey permeate powder, Flavourings, and antioxidants, including carry over from ingredients and Maltodextrin as per WFP Product Specifications provided via the link further below.
All supporting documentation shall be prepared in accordance with the instructions provided on UNGM platform and submitted via email to wfp.rbnprocurement@wfp.org referencing the subject “Response to EOI ref. No RBN23E0I001”. The deadline for response to this request for EOI: 08.09.2023,17:00 hrs EAT.
