INVITATION FOR FEEDBACK AND MEMORANDA ON THE DRAFT CROPS (BIXA) REGULATIONS, 2023
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is in the process of developing regulations for the Bixa sub
sector following scheduling of Bixa (Bixa orellana) as a crop under First Schedule of the Crops Act No. 16 of 2013.
The main objective of the proposed Regulations is to facilitate the Development, Promotion and Regulation of
Bixa sub sector for the benefit of bixa growers and other value chain players within the Bixa industry.
In line with the requirements of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) on public participation, the Ministry invites
public comments and written memoranda on the draft regulations. The Draft Crops (Bixa) Regulations, 2023 and
comments submission form is available on the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) website www.afa.go.ke
and kilimo.go.ke for use.
All interested Stakeholders should submit written comments and memoranda on the draft Crops (Bixa) Regulations,
2023 using the prescribed public comments form, to reach the undersigned not later than fourteen (14)
days from the date of publication of this notice.
