1.0 Introduction.
Safaricom Plc is the leading integrated communication and financial services provider in Kenya, with a steadily growing subscriber base. The company is continuously expanding and reviewing its business, to meet the changing competitive landscapes, needs, and profiles of its customers.
Our efforts are geared towards positively impacting the lives of those in the communities around us and thus we strive to change the present to improve the future.
To this end, Safaricom Plc intends to engage the services of a reputable contractor/supplier(s) for the Design, Supply, and Installation of 120kW Grid Tied Solar PV System for Eldoret Contact Center. Safaricom is therefore soliciting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested qualified providers.
2.0 Background and EOI Requirements
Safaricom intends to engage the services of a reputable contractor/supplier for Grid tied solar PV systems. This requirement is for the identification of a suitable solar PV contractor(s) to offer Design, Supply, and Installation of 120kW Grid Tied Solar PV System for Eldoret Contact Center.
Safaricom Plc is therefore soliciting from interested companies an Expression of Interest clearly showing the following:
- A company profile detailing our years of experience as Grid Tied Solar PV suppliers and contractors.
- Permits from relevant authorities to offer such rider services (Provide evidence of compliance with statutory requirements, Valid EPRA C1 license as solar PV
- contractor, NCA for solar certificate, certificate of registration, professional membership all other relevant licenses).
- Financial capability – submit 2 years audited account.
- The principal place of business and warehouse facilities /service outlets/offices clearly indicating the exact locations submit supporting documents for office ownership(lease) & county licenses.
- Share experience and valid practicing licenses of at least 3 key technical members/staff in the format shared in Table 1, below.
- Current list of corporate clients where similar services is carried out. Provide contract or award/recommendation letters from the clients and contacts (Maximum 3). in the format shared in Table 2, below.
3.0 Submission of Responses
The Expression of Interest proposal should be submitted in the below format:

Vendors are advised to submit their responses via return email by Noon (East African Time) on Tuesday, 31st October 2023 to Pmokaya@safaricom.co.ke;

- This is not tender.
- Only the suppliers who provide the requested details will be considered for further discussions,
- No prices should be provided with this EOI,
- Safaricom reserves, at its sole discretion, the right to select or reject, either in totality or partially, any or all proposals made in the context of this EOI. Any such decisions made will be final and no correspondence will be engaged into, other than for the purpose of informing the bidders of the outcome of the process.
