E-REGISTRATION OF FOREST INDUSTRY INVESTORS (TIMBER, PLYWOOD, PULP WOOD, TREATED TRANSMISSION POLES
AND FUEL WOOD) FOR 2024/2026 FINANCIAL YEARS

Kenya Forest Service (KFS) is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation
and Management Act no 34 of 2016. The mandate of the Service is “to provide for the
development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of
all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected
purposes”.
Kenya Forest Service invites applications from eligible Forest industry investors interested
in buying forest plantation materials among them round-wood, poles and fuelwood from
state forests to submit their application online for registration as Forest Industry Investors
(Timber, Pulp wood, Treated transmission poles, Ply wood and Fuel wood) for the
2024/2025 – 2025/2026 Financial Years.
NOTE:
1) All Forest Industry Investors who were issued with licenses in 2021 and those
who applied in 2023 (completed, but their premises were not physically verified)
are not required to register their details afresh in the e-registration system.
However, they are required to do the following;
1. Login to e-registration system using the KRA PIN (what was used in earlier
registration) and the password.

2. Confirm and update the already existing details and RE-SUBMIT the application.
2) For new applicants
To register, visit Kenya forest service website, select the [e-Registration] tab using any
browser or use the link; Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.or open the linkhttps://sawmillers.kenyaforestservice.org.

Note also that all applicants are required to visit the KFS website
www.kenyaforestservice.org and www.environment.go.ke for a copy of document guiding
the registration process and also familiarize themselves with the evaluation criteria. The
documents can also be downloaded from the public procurement information portal
www.tenders.go.ke.

Upon successful submission of application details and after verification in the system,
the applicant will be notified of his/her application status via email provided during
registration.
The online e-registration process will close on Wednesday, 24th July, 2024 at 12
noon.
N.B
After the closing of the online e-registration all successful applications in the system
and those already registered (with licenses) will undergo a physical verification of
the information provided in the system.
The end result of the physical verification will be a list of registered forest industry investors
(Timber, Pulp wood, treated transmission poles, ply wood and Fuel wood) who will be
invited to bid for forest plantation materials from time to time whenever they are available
within the 2024/2025 – 2025/2026 Financial Years. All subsequent applications after the
indicated date and time will be considered biannually.
