The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank and Agence Francaise de Developpement toward the cost of the Second Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP 2] and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Roads/Footpaths, Storm Water Drainage Systems, Public Street Lighting And Sewer Infrastructure Works in Selected Informal Settlements of Huruma Fire Victims 2, Mathare Fire Victims, Matopeni, Pumwani Majengo and Spring Valley all Within Nairobi City County.
- This contract will be jointly financed by Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD): “For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.”
- The Nairobi City County Government now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Construction of Roads/ Footpaths, Storm Water Drainage Systems, Public Street Lighting and Sewer Infrastructure Works in Selected Informal Settlements of Huruma Fire Victims 2, Mathare Fire Victims, Matopeni, Pumwani Majengo and Spring Valley all Within Nairobi City County.
The scope of works includes but not limited to the following activities to be executed within the periods as stated.
- Construction of 0.973 km of Road & Drainage Works, 0.973 km of Footpath & Drainage Works, Street lighting [55 poles along 0.973km] in Huruma Fire Victims – 2 Settlement;
- Construction of0.410 km of Road & Drainage Works, 0.410 km of Footpaths Drainage Works, Street lighting [24 poles along 0.410 km] in Mathare Fire Victims Settlement;
- Constructionofl.970kmofRoadSDrainageWorks,1.970kmofFootpathSDrainageWorks,Streetlighting [110 poles along 1.970km] in Matopeni Settlement;
- Construction of 0.821 km of RoadS Drainage Works, 0.821 km of Footpath S Drainage Works, Street lighting [46poles along 0.821 km] in Pumwani/Majengo Settlement;
- Construction of 1.177 km of RoadS Drainage Works, 1.177 km of Footpaths Drainage Works, Street lighting [66poles along 1.177 km) in Spring Valley Settlement;
- Construction of 1005m long sewer line in Huruma Fire Victims-2 Settlement.
- Bidding will be conducted through National competitive procurement using Request for Bids [RFB] as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers – Procurement in Investment Projects Financing” July 2016 and revised in November 2017 and August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
