AGENCY FERTILIZER SUPPLY NOTICE
National Cereals and Produce National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB] is a State Corporation established under Cap 338 of the Laws of Kenya. It is a Statutory Board under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives.
Following the global increase in the cost of fertilizer occasioned by its depressed supply due to disruptions caused in the global supply chains, a situation which has been worsened by export prohibitions from major fertilizer producing countries, the government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives has stepped in to cushion the Kenyan farmers growing food crops from these high fertilizer prices. The intervention is in the form of subsidizing commercial fertilizer.
The Board is therefore inviting fertilizer manufacturers, distributors and sellers into a direct contractual agreement to enable them supply fertilizer to NCPB for distribution under government subsidised fertilizers, through its network on agency basis.
The types of fertilizer should meet the below minimum technical specifications and/or equivalent;
Planting Fertilizers
- i)DAP 18:46:0
- ii)NPK 23:23:0
iii) NPK 17:17:17
- iv)Any other planting NPK approved by KEBS
Top Dressing Fertilizers
- i)CAN 26% Nitrogen
- ii)Urea 46% Nitrogen
iii) Sulphate of ammonia – 21% Nitrogen, 24 % Sulphur
- iv)NPK 25:5:5
- v)MOP
- vi)Any other top-dressing fertilizer approved by KEBS
The supplier should provide the following documentation
- Valid Tax compliant certificate
- Company Registration Certificate
- Business Trading License
- Certificate of fertilizer quality issued by KEBS
- Certificate of origin
- Manufacturers authorization letter *
Interested and eligible suppliers may download tender documents] free of charge from NCPB’s website: www.ncpb.co.ke or PPRA portal www.tenders.go.ke
Completed tender documents] of the bidders shall be sealed and marked as stated in the tender documents] and addressed to;

and physically deposited in the Tender box situated in Nafaka House Ground Floor by the Main Entrance so as to be received on or before 13th April, 2022 at 1200 NOON (EAT).
Bulky tenders which do not fit into the slot of the tender box shall be received at the Head of Procurement Services Office, ground, floor door G48.
Bids will be closed and opened promptly in public and in presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend the ceremony at NCPB’s Gilfilan Hall.
Bidders are advised to send one representative during tender opening to enable NCPB to plan and ensure compliance with MOH guidelines on Covid-19.
Late bids, electronic bids shall NOT be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
