3. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the International Development Association [IDA] toward the cost of the Water and Sanitation Development Project [WSDP] and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Improvement of the Ukunda urban water supply

Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits by World Bank Borrowers, April 2015 [Updated January and October, 2017 and January, 2020] [“Procurement Guidelines”], and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Kwale Water and Sewerage Company at the address below and inspect the bidding documents during office hours 8.30 am to 16.30 pm, local time at the address given below:

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Kshs.1,000.00 [Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) per set. Bidders can access the bidding documents at our website and download for free. The method of payment will be through banker’s cheque in favor of Kwale Wafer and Sewerage Company; Account Number 1108004849 Kenya Commercial Bank. Bidders who download the bidding documents are required to notify the purchaser by email with full contact details that they intend to participate, this will facilitate issuance of notifications by the employer to all bidders where necessary. The Bidding Documents will be collected from the address below upon production of a purchase receipt.

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before Thursday, 14^th January 2021 at 11.00am [EAT].Bids must clearly be marked “Laying of Water distribution pipelines from Mabokoni area to Ukunda town and environs Contract No: KE-KWAWASCO -203531- CW-RFB or Construction of Administration building, laboratory, workshop, store and fencing Contract No: KE-KWAWASC0-203535-CW-RFB.

Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened thereafter. Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone else are not allowed to attend the bid opening. The bid opening report will be shared with the firms that submitted their bids.

7. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in form of a Bank guarantee of KES.14, 459,135 [Kenya Shillings Fourteen Million, Four Hundred and Fifty Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty Five Only] and KES. 1,718,636 [Kenya Shillings One Million, Seven Hundred and Eighteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Thirty Six Only] respectively.
