PROGRAMME: NAIROBI RIVERS BASIN REHABILITATION AND RESTORATION PROGRAM PHASE II-SEWERAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

PROCUREMENT OF WORKS

LOT 5-CONSTRUCTION OF NAIROBI INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS WATER AND SANITATION INTENSIFICATION WORKS

NCB No: AWWDA/NaRSIP II/W-05/2022

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in 28 February 2019 [Ref AfDB266-02/19.
2. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Program Phase II-Sewerage Im­provement Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Lot 5-Construction of Nairobi Informal Settlements Water and Sanitation Intensifica­tion Works.
3. The Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works:
4. a)Ablution Blocks in the selected areas in selected informal settlements.
5. b)Sewerage Networks and last mile household connections.
6. c)Development of community Borehole based water supply projects with associated infrastruc­ture
7. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, Athi Water Plaza, Muthaiga North Road, Off Kiambu Road P.O. Box 45283-00100 Nairobi, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays.
8. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only). The bidding documents may also be downloaded from the AWWDA website: www. awwda.go.ke or www.tenders.go.ke free of charge. Bidders who download the bidding documents from the website MUST forward their particulars immediately to procurement@awwda.go.ke for records and any further clarifications and addenda.
9. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.
10. A Prebid meeting and Site Visit will take place on 29th March, 2022 starting at 09:00am (East African Time). The venue for the Pre-Bid site visit meeting will be at the Athi Water Works Development Agency Offices, Athi Water Plaza, Muthaiga North Road, Off Kiambu road, Nairobi.
11. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 12.00pm East African Time on 26^th
12.  April, 2022 and must be accompanied by a Bid security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES. 1,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings One Million only).
13. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 12.05pm East African Time on 26th April, 2022 at the offices of:
