- The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Water and Sanitation Development Project (WSDP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Sludge Treatment Facilities in Kilifi and Mtwapa Towns, Contract No. KE-KIMAWASCO-416959-CW-RFB.
- The Kilifi Mariakani Water and Sewerage Company limited (KIMAWASCO) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Construction of Sludge Treatment Facilities in Kilifi and Mtwapa Towns. The construction period is 9 months and defects liability period is 12 months. The scope of works comprises the following:
1) Construction of 2Nr Sludge Treatment Facilities (1 Nr in Kilifi and 1 Nr in Mtwapa) each comprising of.
- 1 Nr Exhauster Discharge Bay
- INr Equalization Tank (18 m3 Capacity)
- 1 Nr Anaerobic Baffled Reactor- Tw – – 95m3 Capacity)
- 1 Nr Facultative Pond (29m x 13m x 2m: at Top Embankment)
- 2Nr Constructed Wetlands 18m x 6m each)
- 8Nr Sludge Drying Beds “3m x 19m – Plan Dimensions)
- INr Operator’s Offices / Guar: House
- Site and Ancillary Works including Soak Pit, Fencing, Internal Roads, Surface Drainage, etc.
2) Supply of 2 Nr. Sewage exhauster each 7m3 capacity More details are contained in the bidding documents.
- Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers of January 2011, revised in July 2014, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
- Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Kilifi Mariakani Water and Sewerage Company Limited during office hours from 0900 to 1700 hours from Monday to Friday, excluding lunch hour 1300 to1400 hours) and public holidays at the address given below.
- A complete set of bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs.1000 per set. The method of payment will be through Banker’s cheque payable to Kilifi Mariakani Water and Sewerage Company Limited. Bidders can access the bidding documents at our website and download for free. Bidders who download the bidding documents are required to notify the purchaser by email with full contact details that they intend to participate; this will facilitate issuance of notifications by the purchaser to all bidders where necessary. The Bidding Documents will be collected from the address below upon production of a purchase receipt. No arrangements have been made for other methods of delivery of bidding documents.
