CONSULTANCY ON TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR REGIONAL OCEAN GOVERNANCE PROCESSES IN THE WESTERN INDIAN OCEAN
The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit [GIZ) GmbH is implementing the regional project, Western Indian Ocean Governance Initiative [WIOGI), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development [BMZ] in partnership with the Nairobi Convention – the Regional Seas Convention housed at UNEP. The project supports the regional, national and local actors to collaborate more effectively for the protection and sustainable use of marine and coastal diversity in the WI0.lt focuses on three main work areas:
- a)Strengthening the capacities of local coastal communities to participate in ocean governance.
- b)Strengthening the capacities of the regional multi-actor stakeholder initiative [Our Blue Future) to strengthen and promote local solutions for inclusive and sustainable blue economy.
- c)Improving local economic and social framework conditions for an inclusive sustainable blue economy in Mozambique and Tanzania.
GIZ is seeking a consultant to support the planning of a political conference on in April 2025, the further development of Our Blue Future governance structure, and technical and legal support to the Nairobi Convention Secretariat to finalise reporting on 11th Conference of Parties meeting [COP).
In this regard, the GIZ Office Nairobi invites bidders to submit a bid to offer these services. The consultancy will be awarded to a suitable individual.
