TENDER NOTICE
CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR REVIEW AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE DROUGHT EARLY WARNING SYSTEM
TENDER REFERENCE NO . NDMA / DCADR /DEWS / 001 / 2023-2024
The National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is a public body established by the NDMA
Act, 2016. The Act mandates the Authority to exercise overall coordination over all matters relating
to drought risk management and to establish mechanisms, either on its own or with stakeholders,
that will end drought emergencies in Kenya.
NDMA, with support from the European Union through the Dryland Climate Action for Community
Drought Resilience (DCADR) Project, seeks a consultant for the review and improvement of the
Drought Early Warning System (DEWS) to enhance ability to monitor, assess, and predict drought
conditions in the country through the integration of artificial intelligence, machine learning, geospatial
information system, and remote sensing technologies.
The selected consultant shall be expected to overhaul and/or upgrade the DEWS-Management
Information System to make it efficient, responsive, reliable and predictive.

The deadline for submission of tenders is 23rd May 2024 at 2.00 pm.
Tender documents will be opened immediately thereafter at the NDMA Boardroom on 17th Floor,
Lonrho House, Standard Street, Nairobi, in the presence of tenderers or their representatives, who
choose to attend.
