CONSULTANCY SERVICES ON ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE ROAD AND RAIL SUB-SECTORS IN KENYA

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT, INFRASTRUCTURE, HOUSING,URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS TENDER 2021 

(CONSULTING SERVICES- INDIVIDUAL SELECTION)

• The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World bank towards the Horn of Africa Gate­way Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
• The consulting services include: – The assessment of the Impact of Post Covid-19 Pandemic on the Road and Rail Sub-sectors in Kenya.
• The scope of work for the consultant will include, but is not limited to:

1.             Examine the impact of COVID-19 on the country’s road and rail sub-sectors;
2.             Develop Covid-19 short, medium and long-term mitigation measures to ensure sustainability of the sub-sectors during and post COVID-19 pandemic; with an estimation of the possible time-frame under several possible scenarios.

                              III.            Recommend potential measures or interventions by both the private and the public sector to main­tain effective and sustainable road and rail air transport services for a speedy recovery of the sub-sec­tors and boost their potential contribution for recovery and growth of the wider economy.

1.             Provide lessons learnt and share best practices in handling the pandemic.

• The consultancy will be carried out over a period of Three (3) Months.
• The State Department for transport now invites eligible individual (consultants) to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested individual (consultants) should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services.
• A consultant will be selected in accordance with the consultant guidelines for recruitment of individual consultants.
