CONSULTANCY TO DEVELOP THE COUNTY ENERGY PLANS FOR KERICHO AND BARINGO
The GCF Project via its component on creating an enabling environment for the growth of the cooking sector in Kenya in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum [MoEP], is providing capacity building support to counties undertaking county energy planning with the ultimate aim of meeting the requirements of the Integrated National Energy Planning (INEPJ framework. The key areas of the support include but are not limited to the following: Clean cooking; Least cost electrification; County energy resources assessment; Gender analysis; RE/Energy efficiency; Data analysis and geospatial planning; Sectoral nexus analysis; and Value chain and business model analysis
In this regard, GIZ under the auspices of the GCF project invites interested individual consultants to submit their bids free of charge, and without obligation to GIZ, to provide capacity building support to 2 counties [Kericho and Baringo] undertaking county energy planning.
Interested individual consultants must meet the following qualifications:
The bidding firm must demonstrate the following:
- i)Minimum of master’s graduate degree in a field related to natural resources and renewable energy assessment and planning, environmental planning and studies (waste to energy], economic assessment, social sciences/ development studies
- ii)At least 6 years’ experience in clean cooking sector
iii) Hi. Experience in clean cooking and bioenergy, renewable energy, energy planning, research
- iv)Demonstrate experience in cooking energy planning (demand assessment, solution design, modelling] and research and analysis;
- v)Experience in data analysis developing tools and templates
- vi)Experience engaging with county governments
