CUSTOMISING EXISTING MEAT INVENTORY AND TRACEABILITY SYSTEM

Kenya Markets Trust (KMT) is a Kenyan non-profit organisation that works in partnership with the private sector, county and national government to unleash large-scale, sustainable market growth by changing the underlying incentives, capacities and rules that shape how markets work.

The Retail Trade Association of Kenya (RETRAK) is the voice of Kenya’s retail industry with the main objective of providing retailers with a central representative body to put across their agenda and retail trade concerns to government agencies, parliament and other bodies, for their benefit. Membership includes all major supermarkets in the country.

KMT has partnered with RETRAK to promote the uptake of good food safety practices in Kenya’s meat retail industry. Part of this assignment seeks to build the capacity of retailers in managing meat inventory and traceability through the use of modern meat-specific software, promote meat differentiation, and unlock investment in the meat retail sector.

RETRAK, through KMT’s support, is looking for a firm/consultant to customise the existing Point-of-Sale and available Meat Inventory Software to provide solutions for meat retail businesses offering differentiated meat cuts and other value-added products on inventory management, profit maximisation and projections. Additionally, the firm will offer hands-on coaching in software deployment and a successful role out of the solution to the meat processing firms.
