DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC GENERATION PLANTS WITH ASSOCIATED POWER DISTRIBUTION NETWORK (MINI-GRIDS)

KENYA POWER TENDER AUGUST 2023 

1. The Government of Kenya has received funding from the World Bank towards the cost of Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Solar Photovoltaic Generation Plants with Associated Power Distribution Network (Mini- Grids) in Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Narok, Kilifi and Kwale Counties in Kenya with 7 years O&M services. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this funding will be applied to eligible payments under this project.
2. The Kenya Power and Lighting Company PLC now invites sealed bids from eligible bid­ders for: KE-KPLC-371792-CW-RFB: Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Solar Photovoltaic Generation Plants with Associated Power Distribution Network (Mini-Grids) in Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Narok, Kilifi and Kwale Coun­ties in Kenya with 7 years O&M services.
3. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consult­ing services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, “pub­lished by the Bank in July 2016 (Revised November 2020)_ ” Procurement Guidelines”) and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition please refer to paragraphs 3.14, 3.15, 3.16 and 3.17 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

8. Bids (hard copies) must be delivered on or before 26th September, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend on 26th September, 2023 at 10:30 AM (local time) at Stima Plaza Auditorium.
