DEVELOPMENT OF AN EXIT AND CONTINUATION STRATEGY FOR THE PROJECT “SOIL PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION OF DEGRADED SOILS IN WESTERN KENYA”
Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the global program “Soil protection and rehabilitation for food security” as commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
In Kenya, the country package “Soil protection and rehabilitation of degraded soils in Western Kenya” (ProSoil) aims at- facilitating the implementation of widespread and permanent adoption of sustainable soil management practices by smallholders in Siaya, Kakamega and Bungoma County. Further, the project seeks to scale up its approach within and beyond the immediate partner counties through knowledge management, policy advice and institutionalization with mandated institutions at local and national level.
Given that ProSoil will conclude its implementation in March 2026, GIZ is seeking for a consultant to develop an “Exit and Continuation Strategy” that guides the activities of the project in the last year and prepares the ground to ensure that the project’s services, learnings and impact at the farm level can be sustained beyond its lifetime.
