CENTRAL RIFT VALLEY WATER WORKS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TENDER 2020 

CONSTRUCTION WORKS FOR LAST MILE CONNECTIVITY FOR KABARNET TOWN

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in UNDB online on 31st March 2017.
2. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards financing the Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Programme. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction Works for Last Mile Connectivity for Kabarnet Town
3. Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, one of the executing agencies of the program, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the execution of the above project. National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the “Procurement Policy for Bank Croup Funded Operations’’ dated October 2015.
4. Scope
5.             Minor rehabilitation works on the existing water mains,
6.             Rehabilitation of existing 10 No storage tanks

      iii.            Construction of new water mains for augmentation of the existing water distribution net­work; ferrous pipes of size 300mm – 0.71 km and HDPE Pipes of size 90mm – 1.17 km.

3.             Replacement of Old Inadequate Water Mains; HDPE Pipes of sizes 90mm & 110mm 3.2 km
4.             Extension of Existing Water Distribution Network; HDPE Pipes of Diameters Ranging in Size from 90mm to 90mm – 1.72 km
5.             Construction of 1 Nr Break Pressure Tank (BPT) and Installation of 1 Nr Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) on Existing Water Main

   vii.            Supply of Meters and Requisite Fittings i.e. Stop Cocks and Couplings for approximately 1.000 Consumer Water Connections

  viii.            New Connections approximately 500 Nr Consumer Water Connections

1.             Reconnection of existing consumers previously connected to dilapidated and under sized water mains which have been proposed to be replaced, approximately 100 Consumers.
2.             Electromechanical Works- Supply and Installation of 2 Nr. Horizontal Multistage Centrifugal Pumps (1 Nr. Duty and 1Nr. Standby).

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect five bidding documents at the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, Maji Plaza. Prison Road, off Nakuru Eldama Ravine Highway, and P.O. Box 2431-20100 Nakuru, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm Kenyan Time) on week days except public holidays.

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refund able fee of KES 1.000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only).

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are the provisions of Use African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works

Bidders are invited for a Pre -Tender Site Meeting to be held at Kirandich Water Company Office on 4th August 2020 at 10.00am (Kenyan Time) for any clarifications. Thereafter, site visits shall be organized to the proposed sites in Kabarnet Town on the same day starting at 11.00am.

Bids must be derived to the above office on or before 12.00pm Kenyan Time on 2nd September, 2020 and must be accompanied by a security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES 500,000 (Kenya Shillings Five Hundred Thousand Shillings only), with a bid validity period of 120 days from bid submission date.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 12.05pm Kenyan Time on 2th September. 2020 at the offices of:
