ENTERPRISES PROMOTING SOLAR TECHNOLOGIES & SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCTIVE USE, SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND COMMUNITY WATER PROJECTS IN KENYA TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESULTS BASED REIMBURSEMENT FACILITY

Opportunity

Energising Development (EnDev) programme in Kenya, aims to mitigate access and affordability barriers affecting the adoption of solar in Productive Use, Social Institutions and Community Water Projects in Kenya. Through this result-based reimbursement (RBR) facility it is envisioned that private sector actors will be motivated to scale market-based models that enable adoption of solar equipment and systems by end users. EnDev Kenya is therefore inviting organisations with operations in Kenya and promoting solar equipment and systems that can be used for productive uses in agriculture and informal business, social institutions such as schools and health facilities as well as community water projects to respond to this Public Tender in Kenya by applying to participate in the RBR facility.

Target companies

This opportunity targets Kenyan registered organisations operating in a market-based approach to promote, finance and install solar equipment/ appliances and solar systems. Only solar equipment/appliances and solar systems that fulfil the prescribed criteria are eligible.

Eligible solar technology categories

Interested companies can bid for only one or two of the promoted solar technology categories.

Category [1] Targets solar PU equipment/appliances sold to MSMEs in agriculture and informal businesses and Category [2] Targets installation of solar systems in social institutions and community water projects (Social Institutions include institutions providing public services e.g. Schools & health facilities while community water projects include water boreholes & Irrigation projects.
