PRE – QUALIFICATION FOR TRAINING OF SMALL – SCALE CONTRACTORS FOR REHABILITATION OF ROADS TO GRAVEL STANDARDS USING LABOUR – BASED METHODS
The Government of Kenya has received financing support from Agence Francaise de Developpement (“AFD”) and European Union (“EU”) and intends to use part of the funds on training Small-scale Contractors in the rehabilitation of roads to gravel standards using labour-based methods in the Counties of Laikipia, Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Samburu, Isiolo, and Marsabit The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) shall be administering the training on behalf of the Government of Kenya.
The proposed training aims at providing the Directors (Owners) and Site Supervisors (Senior Technical Staff) of small-scale local construction firms with the knowledge and skills required to carry out road rehabilitation and maintenance operations correctly and to manage their businesses efficiently.
In this regard, KeRRA hereby invites interested small-scale local construction firms to apply for prequalification to be considered for the training.
A selection process shall be conducted afterwards and 25 Contractors i.e. 25 Directors and 50 Site supervisors will be selected and invited for the training. It is noteworthy that a similar opportunity will be available in the Financial Year 2025/2026.
A brochure providing more information about the training course and the required prequalification forms will be available for free from the Authority’s Website www.kerra.go.ke, with effect from 23rd January 2025.
Completed and duly filled Prequalification Forms shall be deposited in the Tender Boxes located at the Offices of the respective Regional Directors on or before 11.00am on 4th February, 2025.
