THE KENYA NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL 

SECONDARY EDUCATION QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (SEQIP)

1. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Secondary Education Quality Improvement project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of Item Writing Portal (iWP) and Item Banking System.
2. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the following contract:

Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Regulations: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers dated July 2016 (“Procurement Regula­tions”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Kenya National Examinations Council, Head of Procurement at New Mitihani House South C Ground Floor. Email: procure me nt@knec.ac.ke and inspect the bidding document during office hours 0800 to 1700 hours (EAT) at the address given below.
5. The bidding document in English may be downloaded from the KNEC Website www.knec.ac.ke. or www.ppip.go.ke . Those wishing to obtain a hard copy, a complete set of bidding documents in English may be obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES 1,000.00 ( Kenya Shillings one thou­sand only by Bankers Cheque) which should be presented to the accounts office at New Mitihani House South C Ground Floor for issuing of an official receipt. The receipt should then be taken to the Procurement office on 6th floor for recording and issuance of the bid document.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 6th September, 2022 at 10.00 am (EAT). Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 6th September, 2022 at 10.00 am (E.A.T).
7. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Kshs. 2,500,000.00
8. Bids must be submitted in plain sealed envelope clearly marked with the Contract reference number and title in two sets and addressed to;

and be deposited in the Tender Box located on Ground Floor, New Mitihani House South C Ground Floor, on or before 6^th  September, 2022 at 10.00 am (E.A.T).
