The Deutsche Gesellschaft fl)r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ] GmbH, is a federal-owned international cooperation enterprise that implements German development policy objectives around the world. Under the Employment Promotion for Women for the Green Transformation in Africa (WE4D) Kenya seeks Gender & Women Economic Empowerment Research & Training Consultants as service providers to support Its projects ink Promotion of Gender Equity through Capacity Development for Women Economic Empowerment’ through the provision of services relating to:
- i)Green and Greening Sectors Gender Landscape Analysis: Conducting a comprehensive Gender Landscape Analysis within Kenya’s Green and Greening sectors. This analysis aims to assess the current gender dynamics, identify challenges and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to promote gender Inclusivity and equality. The scope includes evaluating policies, practices, and the socio-economic impacts on different genders within the sectors.
- ii)Gender-Specific Training and Resource Development This involves the development of training manuals/materials specifically tailored to address identified gender needs within the green and greening sectors. These materials will be used to facilitate engaging and informative training sessions for both project trainees and companies. aimed at improving awareness and practical skills related to gender inclusivity.
iii) Assessment and Policy Development for Gender Equality: Conduct a rapid assessment to identify specific gender equality gaps and barriers within WE4D partner companies and their value chains. Based on the assessment, comprehensive policies, standards, and guidelines are to be developed to promote gender equality and address these challenges for the companies and their value chains.
- iv)Implementation and Monitoring of Gender Equality Initiatives: Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation mechanism to track progress towards achieving gender equality objectives, with regular reports on the adoption of gen-der-inclusive practices among participating partner companies and project trainees.
