The Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, State Department for Housing and Urban Development intends to procure a suitably qualified contractor for the Construction of Proposed Social Housing Units and Associated Civil Works (Lot 3 – Two Bedroom Units) at the MET Site Nairobi, Nairobi County.

Interested bidders may access the tender documents from the State Department’s website www.housingandurban.go.ke or the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) https://tenders.go.ke free of charge. No hard copies of the document shall be availed due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic. Bidders who download the tender documents from the website are required to provide their details by registering at the Supply Chain Management Office, located on 6th floor Ardhi house, 1st Ngong Avenue, during normal working hours. All enquiries and clarifications should be sent via email to: procurementhousingandurban@gmail.com.
Completed tender documents should be submitted accompanied by a tender security issued by a reputable commercial bank or Insurance Company approved by PPRA in the amount of 2% of the total amount of the Tender form. The tender security shall be valid for a period of 180 days from the tender opening date. Failure to provide bid security in the right format, right source, correct value and validity period shall lead to disqualification of the bidder.
Prices quoted shall be inclusive of duty and other taxes and shall remain valid for 150 calendar days from the closing date of the tenders.
Completed tender documents shall be deposited in the Tender Box located at Ardhi House, 6th Floor. Bulky documents shall be delivered and registered at the office of the Head Supply Chain Management Services, located on 6th Floor, Ardhi House.
The tender opening will be at State Department for Housing and Urban Development Boardroom, located on 6th Floor – Ardhi House on 29th November, 2021 at 1100hrs in the presence of bidder’s representatives who choose to attend.
The Government is not bound to accept any tender and shall not be held liable for any cost incurred in the tender preparation.
The bids shall be submitted by the main contractors not as subcontractors. No separate bid for specialized works (Electrical and mechanical works) shall be accepted. Bids for such works shall be submitted as part of the main works bid.
N/B Bidders who already have running contract at the MET site shall not be considered for this work.
