GIZ TENDER OCTOBER 2024

PROCUREMENT OF SERVICES

PROVISION OF COACHING SERVICES TO WIDU AFRICA PROGRAMME

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit [GIZ] GmbH, a federal owned international cooperation enterprise that implements German development policy objectives around the world.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The “WIDU.africa” project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, supports micro and small enterprises in six African countries (Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Kenya, Tunisia] by leveraging diaspora remittances. Diaspora members in Europe identify and register trusted entrepreneurs for business development support and grant funding. These businesses receive training from local coaches and additional financial backing from GIZ, complementing the diaspora’s contribution.

The project also includes local calls, allowing entrepreneurs to join without diaspora funding. WIDU.africa manages the process digitally through WIDU Online Platform, from application to project oversight, and provides monitoring and evaluation through platform data. This approach aims to boost revenue and create jobs for small and micro enterprises. For more information about the project (www.widu.africa]
