- Background
The UN-World Food Programme is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.
WFP Kenya intends to register contractors in Kenya to support in various construction activities undertaken in collaboration with counties administration in the following areas: Nairobi, Turkana, Marsabit, Isiolo, Samburu, Wajir, Tana River, Kitui, Garissa, Dadaab, Mombasa, Mandera and is therefore inviting eligible suppliers to express their interest in rendering construction services. The contractor should indicate the areas that they have capacities.
- The purpose of this EOI
- The purpose of this request for EOI is to identify suppliers with capacity to provide construction services. Eligible suppliers will be shortlisted and invited to participate in future tender processes in the event they meet the minimum criteria.
- Eligibility will be determined based on the supplier:
- having legal capacity to enter into a contract – certificate of incorporation/registration,
- not appearing on the UN Security Council Sanctions list
- accepting the UN Supplier Code of Conduct.
- completing the questionnaire on disability-indusiveness
- not being sanctioned for fraudulent, unethical, or illicit acts, as described on the WFP Framework on vendor sanctions
- owning a bank account in the name of the company
- having past experience or ability to demonstrate capacity for providing construction services.
- Been in business for a minimum 2 years
- Submit audited accounts for past 3 years (2019 – 2021)
WFP encourages that vendors are inclusive of persons with disabilities. - After the deadline for submission of responses, WFP will evaluate responses received and will notify eligible participants if they have been successful.

- To participate in the pre-qualification exercise, bidders are required to provide the following:
A filled in EOI Response Form, which includes:
- Table 1. WFP Requirements;
- Table 2. Supplier Information;
- Table 3. Supplier Financial Status;
- Table 4. Supplier Relevant Experience.
Signatory by the authorized company representative and company stamp.
- All supporting documentation listed above shall be prepared in accordance with the instructions provided. The documents shall be sent by email to WFPKenya.procurement@wfp.org quoting the EOI number on the subject line. Due to the bulkiness of the support documents, suppliers are encouraged to submit in batches indicating the batch number, EOI Number and name of the company on the subject line of the email.
- WFP will not consider incomplete or unsigned submissions. All responses and supporting documentation received will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be made available to the public.
- This request for EOI does not constitute a solicitation. WFP reserves the right to change or cancel this procurement process or any of its requirements at any time during the process. Any such action will be communicated to all participants.
