Provision Of External Auditing Services – KCA University

KCA UNIVERSITY TENDER 2021 

KCA University (KCAU), a premier Business & Technology University of choice, invites professional auditing/ CPA firms interested in the provision of External Auditing services to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI). Firms must meet the following basic criteria:

1. Be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and its partners possess current practicing certificate(s).
2. Partners of the audit firm should be in good standing with ICPAK.
3. The firm must have been in operation continuously for the last five years.
4. Have a high-level of understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and their practical application to financial reporting and auditing.
5. Have a system of control in the provision of audit and assurance services.
6. Demonstrate capacity to provide efficient external audit services in adherence to agreed timeframes.
7. Indicate capability to advise on the improvement of existing and emerging management controls and governance processes.
8. Show capability of reviewing adequacy of the University’s Information Systems and related infrastructure.
9. Demonstrate prior experience of auditing institutions of higher learning similar to KCAU in scope and holds the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies among the key staff.

Firms that meet the above criteria are requested to submit their EOI as follows;

1. It’s understanding of the Terms of Reference(TOR)and its capacity and capability to deliver on the TOR.
2. The methodology, work- plan and timelines for undertaking and completing the assignment and the deliverables.
3. Appropriate references to demonstrate having the experience specified in the TOR.
4. The CVs of key staff proposed to undertake the assignment.

Bidding firms should also submit the following documents alongside their Proposals.

1. Proof of registration with ICPAK
2. Partners’ Practicing Certificates
3. Valid tax compliance certificate
4. Business permit
5. Confirmation that the firm and/or its partners and key staff are not aware of any conflict of Interest which may exist with respect to KCAU.

Interested firms should send their EOI in sealed envelopes dearly marked “Expression of Interest for Provision of External Audit Services” and addressed to:

The EOI should be delivered before 18^th June 2021 at 11.00am and deposited in the Tender Box located- at the main reception of the Administration Block, KCA University Ruaraka Campus

The EOI will be opened on 18th June 2021 at 11.15am in the KCAU Board Room. Tenderers or their representatives who wish to witness the opening are welcome to do so.

Following review and evaluation of the EOI, the KCAU Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee will invite selected firms to submit detailed Technical and Financial Proposals.
