WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME TENDER JUNE 2023 

EOI 0054/2023: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

PROVISION OF LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MODERN WAREHOUSE FACILITY IN MOMBASA.

The United Nations World Food Programme [UNWFP] is the food-assistance agency of the United Nations and is the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.

To complement its operations in Kenya and the region, UNWFP seeks to partner with a reputable organisation that will lease land and construct a modern warehouse facility in Mombasa.

UNWFP and their partners may assist in the design, to ensure a modern state-of-the-art facility is constructed.

The land being offered will have to comply with the following minimum criteria:

  1. To be leased to WFP for a period of 10 years.
  2. The land will be required to have Special Economic Zone status [SEZ].
  3. The plot size should be a minimum 25,000 square meters.
  4. Location should be within Mombasa city limits, and not more than 15 kilometres away from port.
  5. The access link from port to the facility should be or planned to be tarmacked and easily accessed to main roads with preferable option for railway siding.
  6. The facility constructed on the leased land should ideally be ready for occupation from November 2024.     

UNWFP invites qualified entities that are duly registered and authorized in accordance with the prevailing laws of Kenya to submit their applications for consideration for shortlisting.

The following are the minimum documentation requirements that will be considered for review during the commencement of the process.

  1. i)Company profile.
  2. ii)Certificate of Incorporation.

iii)    Valid Revenue Authority Identification certificate

  1. iv)Valid Tax Compliance Certificate.
  2. v)Proof of ownership of the land presented.
  3. vi)Proof of being able to undertake construction of warehouse facility.

Procedure of participation in the shortlisting process.

  1. Potential companies that feel they meet the outlined requirements must confirm their interest by filling in the registration form.

  3. The online registration form must be filled by 1200 hrs on 7th July 2023.
  4. Only interested parties who register will be provided with further information regarding the shortlisting procedure,
