PROVISION OF MEDICAL INSURANCE BROKERAGE AND ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

1.0  INTRODUCTION

2.0  EOI CONTEXT

Towards this end and in fulfilment of our duty to care and to mitigate our business risks, Safaricom has made it a policy to undertake Medical Insurance for its staff. The cover is managed and administered by an insurance broker.

As a forward-looking company, we are always on the lookout for ways than can streamline the management and administration of our insurance policies and related supportive services in addition to optimizing value in the acquisition of underwriting services for the different classes of insurance.

3.0  AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

This Expression of Interest (EOI) is intended to lead to the identification of insurance brokers and administrators with sufficient capacity and experience to provide the following services in the best possible way and in a manner that enables Safaricom to meet its expectations.

1. i)Provision of Medical Insurance Brokerage Services
2. ii)Provision of Administration and Management Services for the Self-Funded Medical Scheme

Safaricom aims to secure brokerage services for its medical insurance scheme by partnering with a reputable insurance broker who will: –

1. i)Ensure the optimal management and structure of Safaricom’s medical scheme.

Provide strategic advice, cost containment measures, and industry updates.

1. ii)Coordinate a comprehensive wellness program for employees.

Safaricom is therefore soliciting from interested companies an Expression of Interest clearly stating the intent to participate and providing the requisite documents and information that will help assess their suitability. Shortlisted firms will subsequently undergo a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to identify the most qualified firm to provide these services.

4.0  EOI REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BIDDERS

All submissions for this Expression of Interest will be done via the Safaricom I-Sourcing portal. On the i-sourcing portal, you will be requested to share the documents and information below: –

1)    Duly dated and signed letter expressing your interest to participate in this bid. State your specific point of contact (SPOC) for this bid and have the letter on company letter head.

2)    Share your company profile showcasing a comprehensive list of services offered by your organisation and the primary members of your team.

3)    Share a brief proposal showcasing your industry experience and expertise and your familiarity with the agritech sector/solutions.

4)    Share at client reviews testimonials, and references from previous or current clients where similar services have been offered.
