SEEKING PARTNERSHIPS FOR SHARIA – COMPLIANT FINANCING
Kenya Development Corporation (KDC), a Development Finance Institution (DFI) driving Kenya’s socioeconomic
progress, invites applications from financial institutions including Commercial Banks, Microfinance
Banks, Savings and Credit Cooperatives for collaboration in delivering Shariah-compliant financial solutions
tailored to Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the livestock sector.
This initiative is an integral part of the De-risking, Inclusion, and Value Enhancement for Pastoral Communities
(DRIVE) project, component three, currently underway at KDC. The selected partners will provide
Shariah-compliant financial products to bolster sustainable development and foster financial inclusion
within pastoral communities across twenty-one targeted Arid and Semi-Arid (ASAL) counties.
Interested parties should demonstrate proficiency in Islamic finance principles, a track record of offering
Shariah-compliant products, financial stability, advanced technological infrastructure, a robust risk management
framework, unwavering ethical standards, and a collaborative approach.
