This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB 112-818/12 of 15th March 2012 on-line and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.
The Government of Kenya has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Supplementary Financing for The Ethiopia – Kenya Electricity Highway Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the 132kV underground cable Nanyuki – Rumuruti transmission line.
The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the works for the 132kv underground cable Nanyuki – Rumuruti transmission line.
The major works to be carried out by the Contractor shall comprise of but not be limited to the Inspection, Design, Supply, Construction and Commissioning of approximately 16.8km double circuit Nanyuki – Rumuruti 132kV double circuit underground transmission line and approximately 4.2km Nanyuki – Isiolo 132kV single circuit underground transmission line.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works.
Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before Monday 5th April 2021 at 10.00am East Africa time and must be accompanied by a security of Four Hundred and Fifty-Four Thousand (454,000) US Dollars.
Bids will be opened promptly thereafter in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at KETRACO Supply Chain Management Offices at KAWI Complex, South C, Nairobi.
