SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF WATER METERS

1. The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Kenya Water Security and Climate Resilience Project (KWCRP-1), and intends to apply part of the financing proceeds toward payments under this Contract No. MOWS/KWSCRP-1/002/2021-2022 for Supply and Delivery of Water Meters
2. The Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation through Kenya Water Security and Climate Resilience Proj­ect (KWCRP) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Supply and Delivery of 2000 No. Water Meters. More details on the required specifications are contained in the bidding documents
3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures but will in all respects comply with the World Bank’s Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & grants by the World Bank Borrowers January 2011 revised July 2014 (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the address below during office hours from 0900 to 1600 hours from (Monday to Friday excluding lunch hour (1300 to 1400Hrs) and public holidays.
5. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be obtained from the Ministry’s website www.water.go.ke free of charge. Bidders who download the bidding documents are required to notify the Purchaser by email with full contact details that they intended to participate, this will facilitate issuance of notifications by the Purchaser, to all bidders where necessary. No arrangements have been made for other methods of delivery of bidding documents.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2nd November,2021 at 1000 hours EAT. The packages should be clearly marked “Supply and Delivery of Water Meters” Contract No. MOWS/KWSCRP-1/002/2021-2022, and placed in the Tender Box located at Ground Floor, Maji House, Ngong Road, Nairobi, Kenya.
7. Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bid­ders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below on 2nd November, 2021 at 10.00 hours EAT.
8. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in form of an Unconditional Bank Guarantee in the amount of Kenya shillings Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand valid for twenty-eight (28) days beyond bid validity period.
