- INTRODUCTION
Safaricom is the leading integrated communication services provider in Kenya and has a steadily growing subscriber base. The company is continuously expanding and upgrading its systems and processes to meet the changing needs of its customers. To meet this objective Safaricom continuously seeks to partner with competent suppliers and service providers for the supply of various goods and services.
1) Safaricom invites expressions of interest (EOI) from qualified and experienced vendors for the provision of vehicle accessories including;
2) Rig Fabrication and Equipping;
3) Valuation Services for Vehicles, Generators, Furniture, Building Properties and Land;
4) Supply and installation of Window Films/Tinting for vehicles.
5) Supply and installation of Locks for vehicles.
6) Supply, Fitting and Maintenance of Carryboys for our fleet.
7) Vehicles Fire Extinguishers – Supply, Installation, maintenance & inspection
- AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
This EOI aims to identify and shortlist potential suppliers who can deliver high-quality Products and Services in a timely and cost-effective manner for our Fleet and Assets. The categories include Rig Fabrication and Equipping; Valuation Services for Vehicles, Generators, Furniture, Building Properties and Land; Supply and installation of Window Films/Tinting for vehicles; Locks for vehicles; Fire Extinguishers, Fitting and Maintenance of Carryboys of the right quality to Safaricom fleet across the country for the following objectives:
– To ensure the provision of high-quality vehicle accessories and services that meet industry standards.
– To establish long-term partnerships with reliable suppliers.
– To achieve cost efficiencies through bulk purchasing and streamlined procurement processes.
This Expression of Interest (EOI) document is intended to lead to the identification of suppliers that can demonstrate that they have sufficient capacity to provide these services in the best possible way and in a manner that enables Safaricom to meets its expectations.
Safaricom is therefore soliciting from interested companies an Expression of Interest for the specific category clearly showing the following;
- The profile of the company detailing the years of experience in the specific category.
- Proposed service specification and technical details for the specific category
- List of corporate clients for the specific category where firm has offered similar services last 3 years.
- Physical location – Providing details of the location of your physical premises within Kenya and the contact details.
- Valid Operating Permits, Licenses and Certificates of Compliance with relevant standards.
- Signed Company health and safety policy, processes, and procedures.
- Supplier’s delivery lead times after an order for supply of the respective accessories and services are made.
- SCOPE OF SERVICES
The Expression of Interest (EOI) is intended to lead to identification of a reputable and qualified firm to supply and installation of the following vehicle accessories and services:
- i)Rig Fabrication and Equipping: Body Fabrication (24 Ft Mounted to FVZ or its equivalent with Drop down Stages, Roller Shutters, Crew Cabin, DJ Booth, Speaker Mounts, Fire extinguisher holders, Safety barriers, stowage space); Sound Equipment (DB (Italy) Sound System: 2 DB S18 Subwoofer, 6 15” Full Range Tops, Allen And Heath Zed 10 Channel Mixer, Pioneer DDJ Controller, Set Of D1006 Cordless Mics, 1 Shure Corded Mic, 1 Headphone, 1 SK 8” Monitor, System Rack); Power Equipment (AKSA 12KVA silenced diesel genset, plus full set of power distribution and AVS equipment- Crabtree Power Distribution, Crabtree MCBs and Sollatek AVS) Sound and Power Installations (Professional installation-sound and power).
- ii)Supply and installation of Window Films/Tinting for vehicles : High-quality Safety security shutter resistant window films that provide UV protection, privacy, and enhance vehicle aesthetics.
iii) Locks for vehicles: Advanced locking systems for enhanced vehicle security; Supply and install, service and repairs of: Car alarms, Gear locks, Door locks, Spare tyre locks.
- iv)Carryboys for vehicles: Durable carryboy canopies designed for various vehicle models, providing additional storage and protection.
- v)Valuation Services for Vehicles, Generators, Furniture, Building Properties and Land: Valuation of Vehicles, Generators, Furniture, Building Properties and Land for internal management and decision making i.e., asset management and planning, disposal purposes and insurance renewal.
- vi)Fire Extinguishers
Supply of Fire Extinguishers:
– Types: Dry Chemical, CO2, and Foam extinguishers suitable for vehicle use.
– Sizes: Various capacities (e.g., 1kg, 2kg, 5kg, etc.) to accommodate different vehicle types.
– Standards: Must comply with [relevant local/international standards, e.g., UL, CE, ISO, etc.].
Installation:
– Proper installation of fire extinguishers in designated locations within the vehicles.
– Ensuring that the installation process does not interfere with the vehicle’s operation or safety.
Maintenance and Inspection:
– Regular maintenance and inspection services as per manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
– Provision of maintenance logs and certification of inspection.
Training:
– Training sessions for vehicle operators on the proper use of fire extinguishers.
– Provision of training materials and certification of completion.
- EOI EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria will ensure thorough evaluation of suppliers’ capabilities, quality and durability of the accessories and compliance to regulatory requirements for each category of vehicle accessory and service, among other areas. The evaluation criteria is detailed in the Supplier portal.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- It is the responsibility of the contractor to show commitment to providing consistent high quality services from the very first contact.
- Compliance with industry standards, regulations, and procedures. Work processes and legal compliance as proof of ability to supply high quality accessories.

NEXT STEPS
- Review of submitted Expressions of Interests
- Prequalification of shortlisted suppliers
- Issuing of tender to prequalified suppliers.
NOTE:
- Only the suppliers who meet our minimum requirements will be considered for further discussions.
- Safaricom reserves, at its sole discretion, the right to select or reject, either in totality or partially, any or all proposals made in the context of this EOI. Any such decisions made will be final and no correspondence will be engaged into, other than for the purpose of informing the bidders of the outcome of the process.
- Safaricom and its authorized representatives are hereby authorized to conduct any inquiries or investigations to verify the documents and information submitted in connection with this application.
