TECHNICAL ADVISOR FOR TRANSFORMATIVE PEACE DIVIDEND INITIATIVES

Act Change Transform (Act!), a local NGO committed to positive community transformation, is seeking a qualified Technical Advisor for the development and implementation of transformative peace dividend initiatives across seven counties in Kenya. This position will support community-based organizations in fostering social cohesion through innovative economic and livelihood initiatives aimed at reducing conflicts.
About the ECCES Program:
Under the Democracy, Governance and Human Rights program area, Act! implements the Electoral Conflicts Mitigation & Civic/Voter Education Support (ECCES) program funded by USAID/KEA. The program addresses challenges related to electoral violence, misinformation, voter education, and participation of marginalized groups. In Year 4, Act! will scale up the People to People (P2P) peacebuilding model, focusing on inter-ethnic cohesion and transformative peace initiatives in Isiolo, Nakuru, Laikipia, West Pokot, Baringo, Samburu, and the Sondu area of Kisumu/Kericho.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and design transformative peace dividends with implementing partners.
- Engage local communities in mapping peace dividends that contribute to social cohesion.
- Support climate-smart and digital initiatives for sustainable peace efforts.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to partners in the implementation of identified peace dividends.
- Monitor progress and adapt strategies to ensure the success of peace dividend initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in peacebuilding program management and implementation.
- Proven experience in working with marginalized groups, including youth, women, and ethnic minorities.
- Strong understanding of conflict sensitivity, Do No Harm principles, and climate-smart initiatives.
Duration:
The assignment is expected to take 60 working days over a 5-month period (15th February – 15th July 2025), with significant travel to the seven counties.
