TENDER FOR LEASING AND OPERATING WAMAGANA FISH PROCESSING FACTORY IN WAMAGANA WARD, TETU SUB-COUNTY

The County Government of Nyeri has a modern fish processing factory at Wamagana in Wamagana ward, Tetu Sub County. The facility houses a cold room, an ice plant and a blast freezer with a capacity to process 12 tons of fish weekly, in order to reduce post-harvest losses of fish by over 90%, The facility is ready for operationalization. The County Government of Nyeri therefore invites bids from eligible firms with the necessary experience and resources to undertake the operationalization and running of the facility,

SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The scope of the assignment involves but is not limited to:

1. Design, develop, and finance the Project.
2. Ensure implementation of the Project plan in a timely and cost-effective manner.
3. Offer capacity building in fish processing and cold chain management units to ensure maintenance of the required quality standards for the end products.
4. Give priority where feasible to contractors from within the County to tender for contracts to develop and build the Project.
5. Source labour personnel from within the County unless the expertise is not available locally.
6. Strive to maintain and service all the facilities of the plant.
7. Responsible for the renovation, maintenance and improvement expenses and costs of the occupied office space.
8. To use the premises strictly for the purpose leased unless with prior written consent from the County.
9. Responsible for the payment of all utility bills

Eligibility and Qualification of Bidders

The EOl must be accompanied with the following documents

1. Certified copy of registration certificate/ incorporation in Kenya.
2. CR12 for limited companies issued in the last six months.
3. Valid Business Permit
4. Valid tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
5. Certified copy of audited financial statements for the last three years (2018,2019 and 2020)
6. Certified company profile including information on organization, managerial, technical and logical capability to undertake the assignment.
7. Not to be insolvent, in receivership, bankrupt, subject to legal proceedings for any of these circumstances or in the process of being wound up.

Interested bidders shall submit original and, copy of the EOl with all the necessary documentations in a plain sealed envelope clearly marked “EXPRESSION OF/NTREST (EOl) FOR LEASING AND OPERATING WAMAGANA FISH PROCESSING FACTORY IN WAMAGANA WARD- TETU SUB-COUNTY-TENDER NO CGN/EOI/ALF/01/2021-2022

The bid document should be deposited in the tender box situated at the entrance of Nyeri County Government Offices at the County Headquarter so as to be received on or before Friday,4^th  December,2021 at 10.30 a.m. The EOls shall be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. Late bids shall be rejected
