INVITATION TO TENDER
PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ADMNISTRATION BLOCK AT GARISSA UNIVERSITY

1. Garissa University invites sealed tenders for the construction of the Proposed Construction of Admnistration
Block at Garissa University.
2. The tender is a single contract package comprised of the of the following Three (3) parts of requirements;-

• The Main Works (Part 1) Contractor will be the Main Tenderer. The main tenderer MAY invite eligible
sub contractors participating through parts two (2) to three (3) to form part of his tender. A copy of the
agreement entered into by the sub contractors shall be submitted with the tender.
• The Main Works Contractor will take the lead and shall be responsible for the sub contractors or joint
venture partners and will arrange for the mandatory Tender Security.
3. Tendering will be conducted under open competitive method National using a standardized tender document.
Tendering is open to qualified and interested NCA 1 & 2 Tenderers.
4. Qualified and interested tenderers may obtain further information and inspect the Tender Documents during
office hours 0900 to 1700 hours at the address given below.

5. A complete set of tender documents may be purchased or obtained by interested tenders upon payment of a nonrefundable fees of Kshs. 1,000.00 in cash or Banker’s Cheque and payable to the address given below. Tender
documents may be obtained electronically from the Website(s) – www.gau.ac.ke. Tender documents obtained
electronically will be free of charge.
6. Tender documents may be viewed and downloaded for free from the website www.gau.ac.ke. Tenderers or
Public procurement information Portal (PPIP) tenders.go.ke. Tenderers who download the tender document
must forward their particulars immediately to procurement@gau.ac.ke or to facilitate any further clarification
or addendum.
7. Tenders shall be quoted be in Kenya Shillings and shall include all taxes. Tenders shall remain valid for 245
days from the date of opening of tenders.
8. All Tenders must be accompanied by a tender Security of Kenya Shillings 6,000,000.00 valid for a period of 245 days
issued by recognized financial institution CBK or insurance companies listed by PPRA and registered by IRA.
9. Tenderers Shall Chronologically and sequentially serialize all pages of their bid document submitted in the format of
1,2,3,4… ……………………From the cover page to the last page including all attachment.
10. Completed tenders must be delivered to the address below on or before Friday 5
th May 2023 Electronic Tenders WILL
NOT BE PERMITTED.

11. Tenders will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified above or any dead line date and
times specified later. Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers’ designated representatives
who choose to attend at the address below.
12. Late tenders will be rejected.
13. The Successful Bidders Shall Fill the beneficial ownership form before signing the contract
