Sasini PLC is a public company listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange with over 7,000 shareholders, majority of whom are Kenyans. The principal activities of this company, which straddles the breadth of Kenya, are the growing and processing of tea, coffee, avocado, macadamia nuts, dairy operations, value addition, in the form of branding and packaging of the related products for local retail market and export and operation of several Export Processing Zones.
The company is inviting interested parties to offer their bids for provision of transport services for their products.
Goods/Products to be transported:
- Clean coffee
- Avocado fruits *
- Tea and coffee [value add retail products]
| 1 | Clean Coffee – Sasini Kiambu | Transportation of clean coffee from:
Own Estate in Kiambu to the designate warehouse at Bollore along North Airport Road Marketing agents within Nairobi, Ruiru & Thika. Growers to the Coffee mill Dealers within Nairobi |
| General Requirements:
Minimum capacity of 8 tonnes Vehicle must be in good working condition and serviceable. Covered body with locking mechanism. Clean, dry, and fit state, free of odours /toxic smells Ideal to transport food products. The vehicle body shall be watertight to prevent rewetting of the clean coffee/ products. The service provider to guarantee availability of the vehicles for the delivery/collection of clean coffee as per Company needs. The vehicles must be fitted with tracking systems, that will be manned both by the service provider and Sasini PLC. Adherence and uphold food safety requirements to prevent contamination of the goods/ products being transported. The payment shall be made monthly depending on the volume of goods [number of 60kg bags transported] or as per product specification. |

| 2 | Avocado Fruits- Sasini Avocado EPZ Limited | Collection and transportation of avocado fruits from Kisii, Kakamega, Bomet, Muranga, Nyeri, Kiambu, Counties and other designate areas for delivery at the Packhouse [ Sameer Industrial Park].
Additional information: 1] A covered vehicle that can carry minimum of 8 tonnes of avocado fruits in plastic crates [Specification]. |
| 3 | Tea and Coffee [Value Add Retail Products] – Sasini Retail Division | Collection and Distribution of value add retails products ie Tea and Coffee.
Additional information: 1] The vehicle capacity of 1.5 -3,5 tonnes. 21 Delivery / distribution to geographical regions not limited to Nairobi, Coastal, Rift valley. Western and Central regions. |

Bids should be sent by Registered Mail to the undernoted address, OR Courier OR Hand delivered and deposited in the tender box at the Sasini Head office, Rivaan Centre Wetlands. Envelope should be superscribed boldly with the words “Transport of Services”, to be received on or before 28TH May 2023. Successful bidders will be contacted through their telephone contact numbers within seven [7] days after the closing date.
