UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT NAIROBI TENDER NOVEMBER 2024

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

SUPPLY, MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING OF “COMPOST” TOILETS

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS

Background:

The UN Petrol Station, located within the UN Compound at Gigiri in Nairobi, is a refueling and vehicle servicing point for UN staff and the diplomatic corps in Nairobi. To enhance the facility’s operation, the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking information from qualified suppliers on services for supplying, installing, maintaining, and servicing waterless toilets, also known as “composting toilets,” at the fuel station, specifically for the petrol station’s staff.

The decision to install waterless toilets stems from the limited capacity of the septic tank in the area. To minimize the frequency of emptying the septic tank, solutions are being sought to reduce water inflow into the septic system.

Objective:

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information to understand the technical boundaries and conditions, as well as the cost implication of the service. UNON intends to use the information to identify local suppliers in Nairobi Kenya who can provide waterless toilets and the related maintenance services.

Scope of the RFI:

Qualified suppliers are requested to provide detailed information on their available washroom equipment and required services to maintain and operate them. Specifically, suppliers are requested to provide comprehensive details on:
