TENDER FOR SUPPLY OF PREFABRICATED MOBILE RAPID BUILD CONTAINERS (IDEALLY 40FT CONTAINER SIZE)- 91178176
The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit [GIZ] GmbH is implementing technical cooperation measures on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The GCF project “Promotion of Climate-Friendly Cooking: Kenya and Senegal” (GCF/ EnDev) is implemented by GIZ, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and other implementing partners. The objective is to accelerate the growth of the Improved Cookstoves (ICS) sector with an irreversible market transformation that will significantly increase the level of ICS production and sales, thereby enabling Kenya to significantly advance the achievement of the Nationally Determined Contributions [NDCs].
To achieve this objective, a performance-based investment support scheme to strengthen the ICS supply and delivery chain to accelerate growth in ICS sales and operate on a larger and more productive, professional, and commercial basis is being implemented. This is by providing tailored technical assistance and investment support to improve professionalization of ICS production, distribution, and retail chains, as well as their expansion to unserved regions in the country.
As part of the support towards enhancing the production capacity of the project beneficiaries [mainly professional and business class producers), the project is providing on cost sharing basis prefabricated mobile rapid build containers (ideally 40ft container size] for safe keeping of the stoves production machinery, curing processes for green liners producer as well as the fired liners awaiting dispatch to the market. The containers are also expected to have a safe space to act as the office/record keeping space for the entrepreneurs. The entire assignment is divided into two lots as follows:
- Lot 1: Supply of 13 prefabricated containers to be handed over to beneficiaries in the Lake Victoria and Western Region. For ease of delivery of the items and provision of after sales support upon fabrication, potential bidders/suppliers with operations or from these regions are preferred to make delivery and after sales support more economical.
- Lot 2: Supply of 17 prefabricated containers to be handed over in the Central and Lower Eastern Region. Again, for ease of delivery of the items and provision of after sales support upon fabrication, potential bidders/suppliers from these regions are preferred to make delivery and after sales support more economical.
In this regard, the GIZ Office Nairobi invites bidders to submit, free of charge, and without obligation on part of GIZ, a bid for the supply of prefabricated mobile rapid build containers. Bidders interested in supplying to both lots will be required to submit separate bids for each lot. Non-conformity to all conditions mentioned will lead to exclusion of the bid. Bids should be submitted in the requested quantity. Partial or incomplete bids will be considered non- responsive.
