PUBLIC TENDER FOR A COMPANY TO CONDUCT TRAININGS FOR SMALL- SCALE (0 TO 50 M3) AND MEDIUM-SCALE (50 TO 500 M3) CONSTRUCTION AND PRODUCTIVE USE OF BIOGAS
Opportunity
The current workforce in the biogas sector in Kenya is estimated at 600 persons. The main objective of the African Biodigester Component (ABC) implemented by GIZ Kenya is to support the construction of 20,000 Small-Scale (0 to 50 m3) and 250 Medium-Scale (50 to 500 m3) bio digesters. It is estimated that 1,400 new staff will be required to reach this objective.
In order to support the creation of new jobs and upskill the workforce in the biodigester sector, GIZ aims to train 240 new domestic biodigester masons, upskill 60 masons installing small scale bio digesters to construct medium scale ones and 50 biogas technicians to install or retrofit appliances for productive use of biogas.
ABC is therefore inviting companies with these capacities through this Public Tender to provide these 3 types of training.
Eligibility criteria
Bidders must demonstrate documented track record performing similar trainings, existing capacity (knowledge, structures and staff) to deliver the trainings and follow up mechanism of the trainees. Bidders must have the capacity to document and report data on the trainings.
To be eligible, bidders must provide the following documents:
- CR12 Certificate
- Audited Accounts
- Company Registration/ Incorporation Certificate
- Valid Tax compliance certificate

An email response will provide the relevant tender documents and application templates on 27.11.2023, thereafter no documents will be shared.
