WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME TENDER SEPTEMBER 2022
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) |
TRANSPORT OPERATORS OF TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE COMMODITIES (REF:EOI/006/2022)
The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is the food-assistance agency of the United Nations and is the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.
Due to requests for increased support in health emergency responses and preparedness, UNWFP Kenya has started to expand its scope from handling of normal food and non-food items in ambient conditions to commodities such as vaccines, lab reagents and medical equipment with increased product quality requirements such as cold chain conditions. Transportation of these commodities under temperature sensitive conditions is required for primary legs [Nairobi and Mombasa to major towns and counties) and last mile deliveries (such as from counties to health facilities) where basic road infrastructure might not be in existence or is in poor state.
UNWFP therefore invites qualified companies engaged in the provision of transport of Temperature Sensitive Commodities who are duly registered and authorized in accordance with the prevailing laws of Kenya to fill in the online questionnaire provided at the following below link for consideration for shortlisting as potential WFP contractors and subsequent invitation to tender.
All responses must be submitted by 1200 hrs on 30 September 2022.
Queries strictly related to this invitation should be directed to Kenya.contractingiawfp.org. Any email sent in relation to this subject should have the subject header “Query related to Transport of Temperature Sensitive Commodities Year 2022”.
Please note that this is not an invitation to tender, nor does it imply automatic selection to WFP Kenya’s Shortlist of Supply Chain Service Providers. No rates/prices or documents are required at this stage, and this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tenders or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
By participating in this survey and the entire process, companies confirm that the information they provide is true and correct and that any willful dishonesty on their part may render refusal of their application and subsequent shortlisting.
For purposes of clarity, no documentation is required at this stage.
WFP does not charge any fee for companies to access its surveys, questionnaires as well participate in the entire shortlisting process.
